Fastest Way to Unlock the 6th Builder (B.O.B)

In Clash of Clans, the most valuable resource isn't Gold, Elixir, or Gems—it is Time. Unlocking the 6th Builder (B.O.B) is the single biggest upgrade you can make to speed up your Home Village progress.

While the journey seems long, you can significantly slash the required time by following a strategic "rush" plan. This guide combines the most effective methods to unlock B.O.B. in record time.

The Core Philosophy: RUSH

Your Goal: Sprint to Builder Hall 9 (BH9) as fast as possible.

Upgrade strictly only what is necessary to upgrade your Builder Hall. Defensive upgrades are a distraction until you unlock the B.O.B Control Hut.

The 4 Requirements

To get B.O.B, you must build the B.O.B Control Hut (available at BH9) and complete four specific tasks:

• Gear Up 3 Defenses: Complete the gear-up upgrades for a Cannon, Archer Tower, and Mortar in the Home Village.
• Troop Upgrade: Upgrade any one Builder Base troop to Level 18.
• Defense Upgrade: Upgrade any one Builder Base defense to Level 9.
• Hero Levels: Achieve a combined Hero level of 45 (Battle Machine + Battle Copter).

Phase 1: The Early Game (BH1 to BH6)

Goal: Unlock "O.T.T.O" (the second builder for the Builder Base).

Your immediate priority is to reach Builder Hall 6. This unlocks the second builder slot for the Builder Base itself, doubling your upgrade speed.

• Building Priority: Only build the minimum requirements to upgrade to the next Builder Hall.
• Storage Focus: Keep your Gold and Elixir storages leveled up so you can afford the next Builder Hall upgrade.
• Tech: Use Sneaky Archers early on to snag easy stars and percentage.
• The Clock Tower: Build this at BH4. Prioritize this upgrade early as the free daily speed boost is essential for cutting down upgrade times over the long run.

Phase 2: The Mid Game (BH7 to BH9)

Goal: Place the B.O.B Control Hut.

Once you have your second builder at BH6, continue rushing straight to BH9.

• Army Camps: Build these immediately when available. More troops mean easier attacks and faster loot.
• Loot Strategy:
  • Force Close Method: To complete Star Bonuses instantly, drop your troops and immediately force-close the app. The attack plays out in the background, and you instantly get the results.
  • The "One Troop" Drop: If you need Elixir desperately for Hero upgrades, drop a single troop to surrender and lose trophies. Then, drop full armies to 3-star easier bases at lower trophy ranges. This maximizes Elixir income per hour.
• Raid Medals: Use your weekly Raid Medals from the Clan Capital to buy Builder Elixir or Builder Gold from the Trader. This is often better than waiting for daily loot bonuses.

Phase 3: Optimizing the 4 Tasks (The Shortcuts)

Once you reach BH9, focus purely on the four B.O.B tasks. Here is the mathematically fastest way to do each one.

1. The Defense Requirement (The "Two-in-One" Trick)

You need a Level 9 Defense in the Builder Base.

Strategy: Focus purely on the Multi-Mortar.

Why? You are already required to get the Multi-Mortar to Level 8 to gear up the mortar in your Home Village. By doing just one more level (Level 8 → 9), you complete the "Level 9 Defense" requirement simultaneously.

Note: Do not upgrade Walls to Level 9; they no longer count for this task.

2. The Troop Requirement (Level 18)

You have two distinct paths here:

• Path A (Standard): Upgrade the Baby Dragon. It is a strong farming unit unlocked at BH6. Since you use it to farm, upgrading it feels less painful.
• Path B (The BH10 Hack): If you rush one level further to Builder Hall 10, you can upgrade your Barracks to unlock the Electro Fire Wizard. This troop comes out of the box at Level 17. You only need to do one single upgrade to hit Level 18. This can save weeks of laboratory time compared to leveling a troop from scratch.

3. The Hero Grind (Combined Level 45)

This is usually the longest grind. You need your Battle Machine and Battle Copter levels to add up to 45.

• Keep Levels Even: The lower levels are cheaper and faster. It is faster to have a Level 22 Machine and Level 23 Copter than a Level 30 Machine and Level 15 Copter.
• Battle Copter Advantage: The Copter starts at Level 15 when you build it at BH8. This gives you a massive head start.

4. The Gear Ups (Home Village)

You need to gear up a Cannon, Archer Tower, and Mortar.

• Constraint: These require your Master Builder to travel to the Home Village, meaning progress on your Builder Base pauses.
• Magic Item Tip: The Mortar Gear Up has an incredibly long timer. This is the best possible use for a Book of Building in the entire process. Save one specifically for this step.
